• Stable Action Shots: Super Steady with Horizontal Lock makes its way here, which is fantastic news for action, sports, or handheld travel vlogging.
• Versatile Triple Camera: Alongside the signature Nightography processing, you get a dedicated 3x optical zoom and an upgraded 12MP front camera with a wider field of view for group selfies.
• Smarter AI Editing: With Gemini Omni integration, you can generate polished video clips directly from your gallery, while natural-language Photo Assist lets you adjust lighting, wipe unwanted objects, or tweak elements with simple text prompts.

SH Take: Keeping a true 3x optical telephoto lens instead of cutting corners with a generic digital crop is a win feature by Samsung! Combined with horizontal locking, this makes the S26 FE a very competent video camera setup for the price segment.

One UI 9 & Next-Gen Galaxy AI

Launching natively on One UI 9, the S26 FE focuses on subtle, quality-of-life automation rather than just flashy party tricks:

• Customizable Now Brief: You can now create your own morning and daily briefing cards using simple prompts.
• Now Nudge: Contextual suggestions are now expanding to third-party apps, nudging you with relevant shortcuts based on your daily routine.
• Multi-Item Circle to Search: Instead of searching one object at a time, you can now lasso multiple items in a single frame.

Samsung is also throwing in a 6-month trial of Google AI Pro (including 5TB of cloud storage), which adds serious cloud value right out of the gate.

Under the hood, Samsung has focused on the fundamentals that make a daily driver dependable:

• Seamless Transition: The revamped Smart Switch now lets you transfer eSIM profiles, passkeys, and health data with a quick QR scan from both Android and iOS devices.

SH Take: A 4,900 mAh cell inside a thin chassis, paired with 45W charging, fixes one of the biggest historic gripes with upper-midrange flagships. Add a 7-year update policy to the mix, and this phone easily becomes a solid multi-year investment.

The Verdict

The Galaxy S26 FE doesn’t just trim down the S26 flagship; it focuses sharply on the essentials; a big 120Hz display, dependable battery, capable camera tracking, and day-one One UI 9. With that pricing that I think lands in the sweet spot, this is easily be one of the most balanced all-rounders mid-ranger of the year.
