Watching YouTube on the commute? Gaming after work? Scrolling TikTok before bed? Going away for the weekend? The charger can probably stay in the bag. And REDMI isn’t only thinking about day-one battery life. The battery is designed to retain at least 80% of its original capacity after around six years of daily use, backed by TÜV SÜD 5-star Battery Performance Certification. That’s important because nobody wants a phone that starts with fantastic battery life but feels noticeably weaker a couple of years later.

There’s also 45W turbo charging and 22.5W reverse charging, so the REDMI Note 17 can even act as a mini power bank for compatible devices.

Built for everyday accidents.

Another thing I appreciate is that REDMI isn’t treating durability as an afterthought. The Note 17 series gets Corning Gorilla Glass 7i, IP65 dust and water resistance, and Wet Touch Technology 2.0. That last one sounds minor until you actually need it. Wet hands? Oily fingers? Trying to use our phone while eating? The display is designed to remain responsive. It’s these little things that make a phone feel more practical in everyday life.

The REDMI Note 17 also gets a generous 6.99-inch AMOLED display, with up to a 120Hz refresh rate and 1800 nits peak brightness. Translation? Scrolling feels smooth, videos look vibrant, and the screen should remain comfortably visible even when I’m at outdoors. For a phone that’s clearly aimed at everyday entertainment, again this is exactly the kind of display I’d want.

Cameras that keep things fun.

On the photography side, we get a 50MP main camera for everyday shots, while dual video recording lets you capture front and rear perspectives at the same time. That could be particularly handy for vloggers, reaction videos and anyone who spends a lot of time creating social content.

There’s also an AI Creativity Assistant to make editing and content creation less of a chore. It’s not trying to turn everyone into a professional photographer. Instead, it gives us simple tools to make our content look better with less effort. And it actually looks good The Note 17 series also gets a refreshed design, with a cleaner camera module, flat display, slim profile and softly rounded corners.

Available in Celestial Purple, Sky Teal and Black, the finishes mix matte and glossy textures with metallic accents. It’s a subtle redesign, but one that makes the phone look more polished without going overboard.
